About Dr Charlene Wolberg
I qualified as a medical doctor in 1992 from the University of the Witwatersrand and completed my internship in 1993. I obtained a Master’s degree in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Stellenbosch in 2013.
After graduating from medical school, I joined the department of Chemical Pathology at the SAIMR (South African Institute for Medical Research), where I worked for several years.
Over time I began to develop a keen interest in nutrition and weight management and opened my own private practice specialising in these areas in 2000. My practice, NUTRITION MED-CLINIC is registered with the HPCSA (Health Professionals Council of South Africa). The clinic is dedicated to nutrition, weight management and how using diet can reduce the risk of lifestyle diseases (including diabetes, stroke and heart disease), digestive disorders, menopause and Alzheimer’s disease to list a few.
I also had the privilege of spending time in the United States at the Cleveland Clinic and was fortunate to attend lectures and clinics specializing in the latest developments in obesity and the management thereof.
